With the change of season, and the warmer weather here in Virginia, I'm taking a look at things holistically. In my efforts to spring clean, I have tucked away my winter coats and boots. In exchange I've pulled out from storage what is light and airy, and I've added a bit of color to my wardrobe.
The color shift hasn't only happened in my closet. The change of season has also got me looking at nourishing myself with proper foods that support healing in the body this time of year. I have started making fresh juice and incorporating it in my daily routine. The other day I threw together a couple of ingredients, and being new to juicing, I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome!
Recipe for the photo above:
2 whole carrots / 1 apple / 1 small beet (and beet greens) / a handful of chopped curly endive / 2 celery stalks
Chop it all up and chuck it in the juicer! If you're brave, and you like beets, it's a lovely treat. And if anyone has a favorite juice recipe, please share it in the comment below. I'd love to try something new!
